Culmination Guidelines
Culmination Bulletin
-
LAUSD has implemented a new Culmination Bulletin (3815.0) that provides standardized criteria in issuing a Middle School Certificate of Completion. This policy is effective for Middle School students who are culminating in Spring of 2016 and thereafter. Beginning with students culminating in the Spring of 2016, the Certificate of Completion will be determined based on the marks earned in the core subjects of PE, English, Social Studies, Math, and Science.
-
Students must earn 21 points out of a possible 30 points to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion. In Grade 7, students earn one point for each semester course in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and PE. In Grade 8, students earn two points for each semester course in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and PE. A minimum of 8 points must be earned in the Spring of 8th grade.
